What color would you make a website about Vegetation and the people who love and promote it. Ok, I guess that is a no-brainer. At some point Vegetation is green. At least some part of it. That is how it is able to live. So in choosing a color for this website, we chose green! Were you surprised? The question that we then faced was what color green? That is what this post is all about!
I picked a few basic green colors, basically green with some added blue. This tends to get lighter toward the yellow side. So I made up this color chart.
#004400 | #114400 | #224400 | #334400 |
#115511 | #225511 | #335511 | #445511 |
#226622 | #336622 | #446622 | #556622 |
#337733 | #447733 | #557733 | #667733 |
#448844 | #558844 | #668844 | #778844 |
#559955 | #669955 | #779955 | #889955 |
#66AA66 | #77AA66 | #88AA66 | #99AA66 |
#77BB77 | #88BB77 | #99BB77 | #AABB77 |
#88CC88 | #99CC88 | #AACC88 | #BBCC88 |
#99DD99 | #AADD99 | #BBDD99 | #CCDD99 |
#AAEEAA | #BBEEAA | #CCEEAA | #DDEEAA |
#BBFFBB | #CCFFBB | #DDFFBB | #EEFFBB |
After viewing this, we decided that the third column was what we liked the best. We also decided that we did not need this many colors… We had used the Choosing Basic Website Colors Plan and we realized we should have used the 222222 plan as suggested, rather than the 111111 plan.
So we made up a new table with the colors for our Vegarian website…
#224400 |
#446622 |
#668844 |
#88AA66 |
#AACC88 |
#CCEEAA |
That gives a quick, color coded reference for building this Vegarian website and makes it a lot easier, and more beautiful also!
That is how we got the colors!
