- A Vegarian is a person who avoids eating harvested plant embryos (seeds), or anything is produced directly from them (without sprouting).
What is a Harvested Plant Embryo, as opposed to, for example, a non-harvested plant embryo? First of all let’s make a little list of what a Plant Embryo. A plant embryo is technically a seed. It is the part of a plant that when it germinates and sprouts, grows into a new plant. The thing is that the Food Industry wants to label Plant Embryos in different ways.
Remember that anything labeled “Industry” is primarily trying to make money.
A quick list of some plant embryos would include:
- Grain (Vegarians aways avoid “cultivated grains,” even when sprouted)
- Legumes (this include beans, lentils, lupins, peas, and peanuts)
Now that we can see what Plant Embryos are, let’s get an idea of what Non-Harvested Plant Embryos are…
Non-Harvested Plant Embryos
In the times we live, virtually no one grows all their own food. If you do, how wonderful that must be for you! For those of us who must buy our food, we know that it is harvested in the simplest form of the term. I buy some veggies from a local large garden farmer, and he obviously harvest the veggies we buy from him. So what is a non-harvested plant embryo, or a plant embryo that is okay to eat?
A simple answer is…
A a plant embryo that is eaten while eating the plant of fruit,
Is a Non-Harvested Plant Embryo!
Let me share a funny story… I was asked if it was okay to eat a cashew while eating a “cashew apple?” As it turns out, cashew apples actually do exist! So yes, eating as many cashews as you find inside of cashew apples, as you eat them is just fine! In that case the cashew is a Non-Harvested Plant Embryo.
Another question I have was about Apricot Seeds as a source of “Vitamin B-17″ as a cancer or tumor treatment? If a person is eating Apricots, and eats an apricot seed, within each apricot that is eaten, that would still be Non-Harvested Plant Embryos.
Here are additional examples of Non-Harvested Plant Embryos…
- Cucumbers – They have seeds!
- Tomatoes – Again they have seeds!
- Green beans or Snap beans – Some will have seed in them.
- Peppers of any type – These have seeds in them.
- Apples – For example, putting the apple into a Fyuelgood (smoothie) they get chopped up and eaten.
- Kiwi – There’s seeds in there!
These are just a few examples of Non-Harvested Plant Embryos. However, as you notice, in each case what is being eaten is the plant or fruit itself, and it happens to have the seeds inside. You are not gathering together (harvesting) a half kilo or a half cup of just the plant embryos, and eating just the embryos.

Harvested Plant Embryos
Harvested Plant Embryos are easy to identify as the Plant Embryos are “gathered together” and eaten that way. Here are a few examples…
- Nuts – Basically nuts you would find in a can, jar or package, including nut butters.
- Beans – Fresh or Dried, they are still seeds. (Peanuts are actually beans!)
- Grains – Like Wheat, Barley, Rye, Corn, Oats and Rice.
- Lentils or Peas – These are more of legumes.
- Seeds – Sunflower, Pumpkin, Squash, Sesame, etc.
- Flour – From any Plant Embryo
- Oil – From any Plant Embryo
- Animal Products – Milk, Beef, Pork, etc. Animals that are fed Plant Embryos rather than grass
In each of these cases, you can see that the Plant Embryos are “harvested” or gathered together apart from their plants. This concentration of plant Embryos is the easiest way to identified “Harvested” vs. “Non-Harvested” Plant Embryos.
A Vegarian‘s primary concern, or reason for being a Vegarian
Always includes optimum personal health
and the elimination of external Picotoxins.
Harvested Plant Embryo Exceptions
Some people make exceptions for small amounts of what may be considered “Harvested Plant Embryos” based on limited use for a specific need for optimum personal health. Each person must decide in their own heart and mind if these are valid exceptions.
The exceptions arise do to both the small amount of Harvested Plant Embryos, and the cultural or geographic availability. Plus – a specific need for a nutrient for optimum personal health. For example, people, men especially, need selenium. All the selenium a body needs can be had in one or perhaps two Brazil nuts. The point is that when you buy Brazil nuts, they are harvested because you get them gathered together in a package. However you are eating so few, that it is likely not a “harvested” amount if you owned the tree!
A Little Bit Won’t Kill You (Maybe!)
Here are a few additional exceptions… (All of these are raw / uncooked)
- Selenium – Brazil Nuts – 1 or 2 nuts
- ALA Omega 3 – English Walnuts – 1 ounce (about 2.5 nuts)
- ALA Onega 3 – Ground Flax Seed – 2 tablespoons
- Vitamin-E – Almonds – a half dozen or a dozen nuts
Most exceptions are not really needed for optimum personal health because the same are available as germinated or sprouted plants.
At germination a Plant Embryo ceases to be Embryos and are classified as plants!
Harvested Plant Embryo Mistakes
Sometimes people mistake the identification of Harvested Plant Embryos. For example, wheat grass juice or bean sprouts are often mistaken because wheat and beans are Harvested Plant Embryos. The key to understand this is simply germination. Germination is often called sprouting or just “sprouts”. Upon germination a seed stops being a seed and becomes a plant in the earliest stages of life (sprouts).
Note: Actually, wheat grass juice and barley grass juice is not a sprout at all! It is a green plant because it is cut when the second leaf splits off.
It should be noted that these four examples (above – Harvested Plant Embryo Exceptions) may also be consumed after germination as soaked nuts or sprouted flax seeds. At germination a Plant Embryo ceases to be Embryos and are classified as plants.
Even as sprouts, large amounts of grains, seeds and nuts should be avoided for optimum personal health. Bean Sprouts may be used more liberally and combined with Millet Sprouts (from ancient or B-17 seed). Here is a list of more common things that are NOT Harvested Plant Embryos.
